Up until now I have been part of the silent majority who downloads and listens to your podcast, and is simply a number on your download stats, but I felt compelled to get in touch after your most recent episode. Your heartfelt tribute to Ryan from giant bomb was very touching, and I just wanted to thank you for it. As listeners we get to know the people on our podcasts and it’s kind of like a one sided friendship. The passing of Ryan makes me want to say hi to you guys and thank you for what you do to entertain us every week. Jonathan

I have to echo Jonathan’s sentiments.

With everything going on in my real life at the moment my awareness of the world around me has been lacking, so I only found out about Ryan through the show.

The video game world has lost one of its foremost spokesmen.

    RIP Ryan Davis.

Great podcast and a lovely tribute to Ryan. I have to admit I have never listen to a giant bomb podcast.

It was Alphaville who performed the track “Big in Japan” – I know because I had it on 12″ in 1985. David Sylvian’s band Japan however were popular as part of the New Romantic scene in the early 1980s. You will probably remember their cover of “I Second that Emotion” from many 80s compilations; most of their other releases weren’t exactly considered “pop” and quite a difficult listen. They weren’t big in Japan, but they did collaborate with Ryuichi Sakamoto whom they met whilst touring the country.
