This September the Eurogamer Expo (now known as EGX) remains in the Midlands as the National Exhibition Centre plays host to the UK’s biggest video game event.
For the sixth year running, Midlife Gamer will be hosting some regular meet ups over the EGX 2016 weekend and of course an after show party on the Saturday night. Gaming guys and gals from all corners will be making the trip and we’d love to meet up with each and every one of you.
If you are interested in joining us, head to the Facebook Event page HERE.
EGX will be in the centre of the NEC and just down the corridor is the Wetherspoon’s Atrium Bar, where we will be from 12 until 2pm (although I suspect there will be a bunch there for some time – look out for Midlife Gamer Lanyards and T-Shirts – they will be worn by the friendly looking bunch of guys and gals who all seem to be very happy and laughing a lot!) Come and find me (Egg Daddy/Matt), Baron Von Pleb (Neale) or Adamski UK (Adam) to get yours.
There will generally be a big bunch of us Midlife Gamers at the Wetherspoon’s Atrium Bar– do come over and say hi and within 60 seconds you will feel like you are amongst old friends.
We’ve just upgraded the gig due to popular demand and managed to get ourselves back at the Irish Centre Birmingham!
We’re increasing the ticket allocation which is great news for GamesAid and the Midlife Gamer community.
Oh, and the bar will be open later.
Tickets will be going on sale on Friday 2nd September at 9am priced just £5 (+75p booking fee) each.
You can purchase your tickets, safely and securely here: MLGX2016 Tickets
Doors open 7pm
Party will finish at 1am prompt.
The resounding success of last year’s event was the Karaoke and we are pleased to announce that DJ Dano will be back with his extensive list of songs for you all to belt out. Who will the surprise voice of 2016 be?
We know you all love the sexy voices of our podcast hosts so this year we are introducing a way for you to hear directly from their combined pool of knowledge, stories and sauciness! That’s right, this year’s party has it’s very own live MLGQ section. When you purchase your ticket for the party, you will be taken to a form where you can ask a question of Matt, Daren, or the pair of them. Here is your chance to ask that question you have always wanted an answer to and have the dynamic duo attempt to answer live, direct to your earholes without the need for any of those old fashioned intertubes!
There will of course be the return of our famous charity auction where you will have the chance to bid on a selection of unique games related goodness with all proceeds, of course, going to GamesAid.
As with last year there are some costs involved which is why this is a ticket only event, but once this has been covered every penny will be going to GamesAid. Midlife Gamer doesn’t make any money from this event. We want to be transparent and hope that you will join us for a fantastic and memorable get together. You may enter on your own, but we guarantee you’ll leave with 100 new friends – you won’t want to miss it.
We’ll be upstairs at the Irish Centre Birmingham – same room as last time for anyone that was there. Everyone who buys a ticket will be issued with a special wristband on the night to control entry. You will need to bring a printed or electronic copy of each of your tickets so that we can scan your unique barcode and allow entry. Unfortunately without your ticket we will be unable to grant entry.
Under 18s MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Food is served downstairs – great prices, great quality.
The Midlife Gamer Eurogamer Expo Twitter hash tag for everyone to follow is:
Start using the tag now and over the course of the Expo. Let us know what you’re planning, where you are going to be and if there is anything exciting going on.
Don’t forget to post your photos with the hashtag too! Keep an eye on this for ad hoc meet ups at the event too.
Any questions, please feel free to contact Adamski UK, BaronVonPleb or EggDaddy.
