November 12th, 2013 by

xbox oneMicrosoft has confirmed the apps that will be available during the Xbox One launch window. In the UK we can expect to see 4oD, Amazon/LOVEFILM, blinkbox, Crackle, Demand 5, Eurosport, Machinima, MUZU TV, Netflix, NOW TV, TED, Twitch and Wuaki.tv.

The number of apps available in the UK is considerably less than that of the United States. However all regions will have; Xbox Video, Xbox Music, Internet Explorer, Skype, SkyDrive and Upload available at launch.

It is also worth noting that TV guide functionality won’t be available outside the US when the console launches.

The BBC has also announced that they are working on an iPlayer app for Xbox One, but it is unlikely to be available at launch. A BBC spokesperson said, “While we are working to bring BBC iPlayer to Xbox One in the future, we have no further details to share at this time.”

The Xbox one launch window is between November 22 and spring 2014. However Microsoft hasn’t yet announced which apps will be available from day one.
