The release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is just around the corner and fans of Games Workshop’s epic, futuristic, Spartan-esque setting are gearing up for a third-person shooter that aims to really make you feel like an all powerful Space Marine.
You play as Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, humanity’s last hope for survival in a war-ridden future. As a superhuman warrior you’ll use a lethal combination of deadly weapons to crush overwhelming alien forces. Fight against the savage Orks and the unholy forces of Chaos in a brutally violent world based on one of the most popular science fiction fantasies.
The score, composed by renowned duo Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan, has been crafted to bring an expansive emotional score featuring anthemic orchestral compositions and contemporary Hollywood music production, reflecting the epic scale of this rich, sci-fi fantasy. Additionally, the soundtrack will be included with the collector’s edition, so get those pre-orders in now to avoid disappointment.
Having conquered the RTS genre, The Warhammer 40,000 franchise is determined to recreate that same success in the shooter genre, having failed to set the world on fire with Fire Warrior back in 2003. The trailers certainly makes Space Marine look enticing and the demo cemented that, but time will tell if it does enough to win fans over.
The following videos are from the Only War series of trailers.
Only War: Power Axe
Only War: Chainsword
Only War: Thunder Hammer
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is due for release in Europe on September 9th.
