    Splendid podcast as always…

Had to laugh at the GAME story, back in the day I used to manage Electronics Boutique in Chesterfield and we always had to ring around the local indies posing as a potential customer checking their stock levels and prices on key lines.

Most indies started to recognise our voices and refused to give details over the phone so we had to resort to developing a range of comedy disguise voices… my personal speciality was an incredibly camp Kenneth Williams voice… ”Have you got any 32x’s in… yes?!… oooooo matron!”

  2. Oh thats a great story.
    Anyone got anymore?

When I used to manage Gamestation Coventry many aeons ago, we used to total up all our faulty returned games at the end of the month make and a list for head office, they used to tell us to just bin them, so what we used to do was take them all round to the local GAME store and sell them, so we could take the staff out for pizza, aaaah, happy days!

    Great podcasts, guys!

I have a suggestion for soundtrack of our gaming life. I realize that its the soundtrack of YOU guy’s gaming life, but I’m hopeful you guys like this track as much as I do.

It’s the underwater music for Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. Ahh, gaming zen heaven.. :)

  5. Hey Mojo – can you send that to podcast@midlifegamer.net with a little story to go with it :)

Related to the Game story. Years ago when I worked for a Thorn EMI owned company, we used to get a lot of calls asking us to go to Our Price (another EMI company) and by the latest release from a new EMI artist.

They used to get all their subsidiaries to buy a few copies to get them into the top 100 so they got radio time. I always thought it was a bit naughty!
