Speedball 2 Evolution Announced

October 14th, 2010 by

OK, so maybe I shouldn’t write tag lines for games, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm for Speedball 2 Evolution. Ah the king of all future sports, Speedball has a special place in the heart of many gamers, myself included. I think the root cause of a lot of the nostalgia comes courtesy of the Bitmap Brothers, every one of their titles was a classic, the often serious nature of games eschewed for dark humour but most of all, great gameplay.

I have some good news for you, there’s no need to put on those rose-tinted bi-focals. Tower Studios has got your back, bringing you classic titles to modern platforms. Their latest venture is Speedball 2 Evolution, an all new version of a modern classic available on the iPhone, iPhone4, iPad, Sony Minis, Android and Samsung Bada. If someone told me 5 years ago that I could play a Bitmap Brothers title on a hand-held platform, my gaping mouth could’ve been tea-bagged by the meatiest of speedballs. But rather than that sort of photo get passed around the internet again, I will close my meaty-tasting mouth and be on the lookout for Speedball 2 Evolution instead. Play ball!
