We’d always been promised by Valve that the sequel to the zombie-ripping multiplayer gore-fest Left 4 Dead was not going to take away attention from the original game. Valve fans were particularly unimpressed on original announcement of L4D2 and many questioned their motives for bringing out a full sequel just a year after the first.
However, Valve continue to deliver on their promises that all is not forgotten and have today announced a brand new downloadable pack is in development for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, named “The Sacrifice”, which is due to be released on October 5th for 560 MS points for Xbox 360 users and for free for PC players.
“The Sacrifice” is a prequel to earlier DLC for Left 4 Dead 2, “The Passing”, and follows the Left 4 Dead survivors as they travel South. The game pack will also feature a new style finale featuring “sacrificial gameplay” in which players must choose who dies in order to save others.
The DLC is a separate download for each game, although players who pick up the content on L4D2 receive L4D’s “No Mercy” campaign.
