POW! City Of Heroes Goes ‘Rogue’

June 23rd, 2010 by

Originally released into Europe in 2005, Paragon StudiosCity of Heroes- the MMORPG inspired by the comic book superhero genre, has already enjoyed a great deal of success. With 17 free major updates consistently helping in delivering the best experience for its subscribed users, the title has also enjoyed one paid expansion thus far, with City of Villains enabling players to play as “super-villains”.

Paragon and CoH publisher NCsoft, have now announced the latest expansion for the series, with the pay-to-play City of Heroes Going Rogue available to players on the 17th August – emphasising moral choices that can alter the direction for the player and the ultimate fortune for your hero /villain, altering how the world around them is perceived, as well as unlocking additional content unavailable to other morality paths. Going Rogue also gives users the chance to explore the new alternative world of “Praetoria”, built from the ground up using an all new graphics engine, that delivers superior lighting and shadow effects. And if all that isn’t enough for fans of the MMO, new quests, zones and villains have also been added. If you haven’t yet played City of Heroes however and want to get in on the superhero action, there will now be an additional 20 levels of content to proceed through for new starters.

It’s a huge addition to the franchise, a new location, more quests, and moral choice pathways. BAM! SMACK! OOF! POW! Yeh, you get the idea – it’s a fantastic sounding expansion.

Going Rogue is available for pre-purchase now from NCsoft and select partners for an MSRP of £17.99. Pre-purchase grants instant access to multiple power sets up to the release of Going Rogue.
