Nimoy Promotes Yoostar 2 At E3

June 17th, 2010 by

A thoroughly intriguing concept, Yoostar 2 is a new video game devoted entirely to allow players to step into the role of famous movie characters in hundreds of movies, all with the support of Microsoft Kinect or Playstation Move. Announced to the industry this week at E3, Yoostar 2 uses the Playstation Eye and Kinect to create a “green screen” style effect without the need for a special screen, allowing players to record their performances in famous movie scenes, and share them online to family and friends, with social networking a huge part of the overall experience- players can share performances through Facebook or Yoostar.com. Gregory Fischbach, President and CEO of Yoostar Entertainment group, explains “[the game] lets you create and share your own video online, and provides a social game mechanic that motivates you to play and participate in the community”, (including sharing, rating and commenting on other users’ acting skills!)

If you don’t feel like sharing however, the game itself will also rate player’s performances in lending to their rise from “struggling actor” to “superstar”. Other game modes include an “improvisation” mode, “party mode” (that allows players to perform in succession), and “progression mode” (advancing through challenges, to unlock additional content). With major studios such as Paramount, MGM, Universal and Warner Bros. having already signed with the game’s creators, the Yoostar library features hundreds of iconic movie scenes, with 60 available on disc from launch.

Leonard Nimoy has been at the forefront of promoting the game at this year’s E3, with a part in The Terminator and the iconic “I’ll be back” line awaiting his powerful delivery. If you want to test out your acting talents and await the critical reception of the public, Yoostar 2 is an experience that really looks unique and entertaining.

Yoostar will release further details of the game and its expected release date in the following weeks. Keep an eye on Yoostar2.com for more information.
