Ep 97: Sunbed Hero

posts 12

Hi all! With the wealth of orchestral scores , chiptune melodies and overall great music present in videogames these days I thought I'd ask if anyone here has any particular favourites or ones that they listen to regularly. Sure the podcast has Soundtrack of Our Gaming Lives but that's only one song every now and again. I thought maybe we could share on the forums personal favourites so we all have more great videogame music to listen to.

I'll start shall I? I listen to a wide variety of videogame music but unfortunately most of it is from games I have not played such as 'Philistine' from No More Heroes 2 ( So very catchy ) and the credits theme from Legend of Zelda : Wind Waker ( So very adventurous )

However there are some from games I love and have played. Firstly I love the Ethan Mars ( technically the main theme ) from Heavy Rain. Sure the whole game was a glorified cut scene but It is so far my favourite PS3 game and Is , In my mind , amazing. As such I really do like its orchestral theme music –

Secondly I very much like the Seaside Hill music from Sonic Heroes , not the best of sonic games but probably my favourite piece of music from the series. I played the game a lot with friends when I was younger and so its kind of nostalgic. Unlike Heavy Rain's theme its possibly the cheeriest and happiest song you'll likely hear , until you play another sonic game of course –

So that's me , now its your turn. Unless of course you don't want to , go do something more interesting , like play a game or eat a pie … now I'm hungry

Good call good man. Not heard that Heavy Rain tune in a long while.

My own SOOGL choice way back yonder was this little gem:

Tune of the moment, well last week anyway, for a lot of folk:

And my last pick, well this just makes me smile and reminds me of the other life I lead…
