Disney have announced Star Wars fans can expect a movie every summer for 5 years here

As a big Star Wars fan I am both excited by this and also a little anxious.  Will this relative flood of films ruin our experience?  Will their success dictate wether or not Disney bother releasing anything else after 2020? What do you think? Are you looking forward to all these films?

Disney have $4bn to recoup so are they trying to do it in a short space of time.

Do you know if Disney bought any scripts or anything with the purchase as I know that there were originally 9 films wrote in the Star Wars Saga 4-6 we all know about, 1-3 should never have been made (or at least made better) and 7-9 were just never made.

I have to be honest and say its about time people let go of 4 – 6 movies. Yes they are great and yes, they do remind us all of our childhood and probably our first peak into Sci Fi and Geekyness. But they are thirty years plus old now. THIRTY!

I for one am looking forward to some good stories being told about characters that i grow up with. I can take it or leave it if they suck.

And for the record, i liked 1,2, and 3. oh-yeah

Baron's right.

Lucas endorsed the Timothy Zahn books as the official sequels back in the early 90's and then went on to make some very flawed mediocre prequels.

To me it's pretty clear that the whole concept of "Star Wars Cannon" has been destroyed by Lucas himself.
So, whatever Disney decides to do, I just hope they try to make the best films they can and not worry about "the secret Lucas scripts."
