Ep 98: Wave 'em up

Longtime listener & forum lurker (2 years +) have finally plucked up the courage to introduce myself.

The name's Matt, a 38 year old father of 3 who's been at this lark for 30 years ish now (BBC Acorn 32K anyone?).  Current beverage of choice would be coffee and sadly not allowed biscuits anymore (doctors order's) but if I were to sneak one it would be an oreo.

Finding time to game at a premium nowadays, current pile of shame is now approx 250 (don't tell the wife).  Always partial to a bit of online gaming in the evening as long as I can stay awake.

My one gaming claim to fame I guess would be that I appeared on the orginal series of Gamesmaster back on channel 4, heady days indeed.

Right, that's my forum cherry popped best find something to play while the wife watches soaps.

Welcome Maff G,

Good to see some fellow gamers with the same bad habbits as myself. I used to buy games, sneak them upstairs and hid them in the presses, so the wife wouldn't find them. I'm currently on a Year of Shame second month in.

Like yourself I love an oreo when the kids haven't eaten them by the time I get home from work.

Hope you enjoy the site give the forums a try and don't be shy to post.

Howdy Maff G from another Maff G.  Throw in the fact that I too cut my teeth on an Acorn Electron and I've just had to go check that I didn't post your post myself….hang on…3 kids…right, I've only 2.  Phew!

I bow down to your awesomeness of being on GamesMaster, welcome to the community smile

Never did get to meet the Gamesmaster himself sadly, or even Dominic Diamond for that matter.  Do how some rather weak anecdotes though about retired journalists, childhood authors and horrendous Producer favouritism but they can wait for a meet up and a pint I guess wink

As for which games to play, pretty much anything.  I tend to get a brain freeze after completing a game and become ridiculously indecisive about which game to start next.

Attempting to play through the pile of shame in alphabetical order, so at the moment it's A valley without wind on the PC, Alpha Protocol on the 360 and Just Cause 2 on the PS3 (Oldest game from PS Plus membership).

Lol @ the brain freeze. That is the curse of having a vast game collection of unplayed games. You can't pick one out to play and end up buying a new one instead!
