Free Alpha game: StarMade [Minecraft in Space]

There is a new game that is picking up pace called StarMade, its a Voxel based space adventure that Combines elements of Minecraft, X-Wing and that call space level from Battlefront.

StarMade is still in alpha but I am loving this game, I have only been playing two days but having so much fun. You start with enough Credits to build a fairly decent ship and can follow the tutorial(advised) to help get that started.

Once you have built your ship your left to explore and do what you like. Controls are reversed to Minecraft left click to place, right click to remove. This is pretty much a sandbox mode at the moment. They do have space pirates lurking around, planets and stars.

Factions are currently a part of the game, and mean you can club together and build some tremendous builds,

I have not had any single player experience I jump onto multiplayer servers ( [a server hosted by some kind Redditor])

Its still an early build so there are quite a few bugs and issues but its in active development, with releases currently every week [or so I read].

You can find out more over at the website, http://star-made.org

Direct link: http://files.star-made.org/Sta…..tarter.exe

Multiplayer server list: http://starmade-servers.com/

And for your viewing pleasure a few image links,

Someone was going to build it sooner or later, http://i.imgur.com/t98muyO.jpg

This is an old video but give a good indication of what the game is about,

Give it a try wink

Thanks for posting this my man.

I went over to the website and watched the first tutorial video, which was enough for me to want to get all up in this game.

Sadly the entire game always locks for me at the point of entering ship building mode during the tutorial… gutted!

I'll check back in periodically as and when it's updated. All I can do for now is dream of roaming the galaxy, mining asteroids and salvaging parts from abandoned ships. smile

That's such a shame,

its all I have been playing this last week, managed to get a few big ships from some of the sites around, take out some pirates and cause all round havoc been loving it.

Getting into a dog fight in space is great and reminds me of my battlefront 2 days, this game has some potential,

I think it may go places.

God luck getting it to run correctly.
