MLGX 2019 – Community Meet Up

190628 Blog Image01 (200x181)

Ladies & Gentlemen of Midlife Gamer!

Whilst there is no September Expo in Birmingham this year, we have been working hard behind the scenes to arrange the traditional MLGX September meetup and are pleased to announce the first details of what we have planned.

On Saturday, September 28th, we will be returning to Birmingham to hold MLGX 2019 in a brand new central Birmingham venue; one which will be new to some, but very familiar to many. The evening will be a more relaxed affair, with plenty of opportunity to renew friendships or forge brand new ones. One thing is for certain; there will be a whole lotta love in the room.

The event will be ticketed as with previous years, and for each ticket there will be a nominal fee to cover room hire and other costs. We will announce further details soon, but we can confirm it will be no more than £5 per ticket.

We know many of you like to make a weekend of it and head to Birmingham on the Friday night to catch up with friends for some drinks and whilst there will be no EGX in Birmingham this year, we have been looking at activities available in the area and will be happy to help facilitate you organising some groups to take some of them on.

Here is a list of our favourites:

MLG Community Tabletop Gaming – Location TBC!
Escape Room
Ghetto Golf
Matrix Virtual Reality
Whistle Punks Axe Toss
Cannon Raceway
Tilt Bar (Pinball)
Kongs
Grange Live Gaming
Geek Retreat

Adventures in Brum (640x267)

If you are coming along for the weekend and are interested in any of these, register your interest in the comments below and we can gauge popularity.
We cannot wait to announce more details soon so please keep an eye out for further announcements and a dedicated event page over the coming weeks in our ever growing FaceBook Group:

Midlife Gamer Podcast 287 – Get Grapefruited

grapefruitMatt & Daren get fruity!

What have we been playing

Pre-play excitement for Bloodborne (digital and analogue) from Daren, while Matt advocates Devil May Cry 5 and Persona 5, which gets two thumbs up. Also a bunch of PC gaming with Forza Horizon, Gears of War 4, Eternal, and MTG Arena.

Daren returns to analogue past purchases with Memoir ‘44, and Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game.
