Midlife Gamer Community Awards 2018

December 3rd, 2018 by

rp_Community-Content-200x200.jpgIt’s December and once again we approach the end of another gaming year.

With some big games, a few disappointing games, some remasters and remakes and many surprising games,2018 was a great year for games and here at Midlife Gamer we want you to decide, as a community, which games truly shone as the gems of 2018.

We will tell you the categories but, like previous years, there will be no lists of pre-selected games other than those you yourself put forward. That’s right, none of this shortlist decided by writers malarkey favoured by so many, you will choose who wins completely.

So, how does it work?

Well we are upgrading the tech this year and have replaced the chewing gum with duck tape, hired a new scientist and incorporated a more potent version of voodoo. For ease of use, we have combined all three of these elements into a nice and neat URL for you to click on:

Midlife Gamer Community Awards 2018 Nominations Form

The qualifying release date window for nominations will be 1st January 2018 – 31st December 2018 – This means our community awards will cover the full year, just like you the community wanted.

Once the votes have been cast, we will assemble the staff to count the tally to see the ultimate winner. The winner of each award bar the “Shut Up And Take My Money”, “Must-Play Analogue Game”, “Late to the Party” and “Most Aniticipated” awards will then go head to head in a poll to determine the Ultimate Midlife Gamer Game of the Year.

Only fully released titles qualify, and as such any Alpha/Beta code you may have selected will go in the honourable mention list along with those titles that don’t quite make the ultimate award catergory.

Initial catergory voting closes at 23:59 on the 31st December 2018 with Ultimate Award voting running from the 1st January 2019 and 8th January 2019 and is open to all including Midlife Gamer, Game Publisher, Game development and PR staff.
