Eurogamer EGX 2015 – Midlife Gamer Meet Ups & Party

September 8th, 2015 by

EGX 2015 200x200 2
This September will see the Eurogamer Expo (now known as EGX) move up to the Midlands as the National Exhibition Centre plays host to the UK’s biggest video game event.

For the fifth year running, Midlife Gamer will be hosting some regular meet ups over the EGX 2015 weekend and of course an after show party on the Saturday night.
Gaming guys and gals from all corners will be making the trip and we’d love to meet up with each and every one of you.
Visit the official thread to drop your name down if you’re interested in joining us. Alternatively, head to the Facebook Event page HERE.

EGX 2015 Lunch 2

EGX will be in Halls 20, 6, 7 & 8 in the centre of the NEC and just round the corner is the Wetherspoon’s Atrium Bar, where we will be from 12 until 2pm (although I suspect there will be a bunch there for some time – look out for Midlife Gamer Lanyards / T-shirts and maybe a bit of bunting! Come and get a lanyard if you see me, Baron Von Pleb or Egg Daddy carry them around.
It’s a fair bet to say that there will be a few Midlife Gamers at the Wetherspoon’s – we’ll try and make us easy to spot – do come over and say hi and you may be a hug from Matt.

EGX 2015 Party 2

As EGX is held at the NEC this year, and whilst there are plenty of places inside the NEC to meet up during the day, we’ve decided to hold the Saturday Night Party in Birmingham City Centre at The Irish Centre in Digbeth. It’s less than a mile from New Street Station – see the map below.

Doors open 7pm
Party Starts at 8pm till 1am
Bar Open until 3am (or until people stop buying drinks).

With a new city we’re rebooting the Saturday night get-together to make it a less formal affair. With no quiz or raffle this year, we want everyone to have an evening of fun, meeting friends old & new. It will be an evening of music, song and dance, so wear your dancing shoes and warm up those vocals! Of course we have some fun shenanigans planned too!

There are some costs involved this year which is why this is a ticket only event, but once this has been covered, every penny will be going to GamesAid. We don’t make any money from this event. We want to be transparent and hope that you will join us for a fantastic and memorable get together. You won’t want to miss it.

We have the complete upstairs of the Irish Centre booked, with dedicated security on hand. Everyone who buys a ticket will be issued with a special wristband on the night to control entry. This will also make it easier for you to head off downstairs if you want a bite to eat.

Under 18s are only permitted if accompanied by a responsible adult.
Tickets will be going on sale on Friday 24th July at 9am priced just £5 each.
As Daren stated on the podcast, it will be in your interest to get in early.

You can purchase your tickets at the Midlife Gamer Ticket Purchasing Page

We’re all still busy in the background planning lots more, which we will reveal in the fullness of time.
The Midlife Gamer Eurogamer Expo Twitter hash tag for everyone to follow is:
Follow @midlifegamernet
Start using the tag now and over the course of the Expo. Let us know what you’re planning, where you are going to be and if there is anything exciting going on.
Keep an eye on this for ad hoc meet ups at the event too.

Any questions, please feel free to contact Adamski UK, BaronVonPleb or EggDaddy.
