Midlife Gamer Video Showcase: Tropico 4

August 29th, 2011 by

Swaying palm trees, clement shores and infinite rum, yep there are no bad points to being the dictator of a tropical island, until you get deposed and the rebels break down your door. With Tropico 4 you must try to balance the good and bad in this city simulation to keep it all coconuts and not broken nuts. Developed by Haemimont Games and released by Kalypso Media, Tropico 4 is the most expansive in the series yet with 20 career missions and various additional challenges. Its predecessor found a cult following in 2009, willing to forgive the sometimes janky game mechanics in favour of a city/political simulator with far more character and humour than your regular sim cities. Anyhow, grab a rum-filled coconut and take a gander.
