MLG Video Showcase: Solar 2

June 25th, 2011 by

Space is big. Really, really big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.

Douglas Adams

Floating in an unfashionable arm of a galaxy that nobody has ever heard of lies a small potato-like asteroid. Even with ultimate hind-sight it would be hard to imagine that this ambivalent tuber could spell the end of the universe as we know it. This is where you step in, taking control of this small rock you must do what mankind does best: grow and evolve. Solar 2 by Murudai places you in a space sandbox experience somewhere between Grand Theft Auto and Katamari. I’m sure you’re confused right now, fret not, just take a goosey-gander at the video below. As a final note, Solar 2 is currently on sale on Steam and now available on XBox Indie Games for 400 MS points, albeit with a slight graphical reduction. Speaking of graphical reductions, forgive the framerate drops in the video below, it is merely an artefact of recording at 1080p @ 30fps, rest assured the game performance is entirely flawless.

    You had me at ‘Katamari’.

I have played it and it is GOOD. It’s less ‘rolling’ and more ‘trying to match the drtifting speed so you can lure stuff to come into your orbit’.

p.s. Still not seen the video. F U work computer. :(

    How good is this game!

You need to stick with it for the first hour as the missions will kick your ass.

I got a good session on it the other day, Dropped my Turtlebeaches on and just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

Thanks for putting this up Ant :D
