MLG Plays Monster Hunter Tri: Week 3

February 12th, 2011 by

Oh Lordy Lou, what a week it has been. I thought the minor technical difficulties last week were a pain, but those minor annoyances were blown out of the water when compared to this week’s hassle. Have a think, when was the last time your internet went down? The last instance I can remember was about a year ago, for about an hour. Yet this Wednesday I had a complete inter-tubes breakdown. Some would say it may have been due to me streaming video, audio, live skype audio whilst recording at the same time. Did I break my internet banjo string? Either way I was completely useless, I could do nothing but have a hissy-fit and kick the cat.

Step forward one bold man, a man who doesn’t know the meaning of the word “fortnight”. He doesn’t know the meaning because he is German. Yes! Cue Mr. Oligon to save the day yet again. After single-handedly recording the video/audio, he also took the editing role this week.

So, the contents of this video will be as much of a surprise to me as to you. Enjoy.

Update: This whole live-streaming business is a proper ball-ache. I just don’t have the upload speed to stream the amount of data in a quality I would call acceptable. On the plus side, there are some behind the scene movements which may very well improve the quality of the upcoming videos.

…and I have to mention we had two Spezial Guests this week.
Of cause Mr. Killasaw, who quite frankly saved our skins…

..and Mrs. Guernica had a short visit in skype.
Sadly I missed my chance to ask her, if in Reallife her better half needs
as much time sorting through his wardrobe as ingame ;)

I was very sad we lost Ant for this week, on the other hand I am happy we got
that Jhen Mohran on tape and showed with Mr. Killasaw what great community MLG
is and that everyone is welcome.

Looking forward to next week with Antman rightfully back in front.

    Best regards

“wants to be Hunter Rank 39 soon” Oli

Great work Oli. Yep, downer losing Ant this week but Killasaw stepped up and gave us some words of wisdom. This means nothing to non-skaters but Derek ‘King of the Manual Roll’ have us some insights into defence versus offence.

I’ve got back into this so deep, so deep put her butt to sleep. Amazing since we’ve been playing this game for such a long time. Surrounding myself with charts and printouts, I’m now hunting smarter. I’m up to HR42 and have some great weapons now. Armour’s not too shoddy either with some great armour skills.

Roll on Wednesday. That Deviljho is going down soon!

Its all been said before but this is what happens when one of those rare games comes along that just wont let you off the hook. The design is clever enough to keep you striving for that next item, no matter how rare the drop might be you know if you can just land one your game is going to change up another level.

Its great to see even more of the community jumping in and really giving it a run for its money because the game deserves all of the attention it can get. Its not for everyone but if you get the bug it will pay you back with literally hundreds of hours of gameplay for your 30 odd quid.
