MLGX 2017 – The Midlife Gamer Party at EGX

August 18th, 2017 by

website flyer

This September the Eurogamer Expo (EGX) returns to the Midlands as the National Exhibition Centre plays host to the UK’s biggest video game event.

For the seventh year running, Midlife Gamer will be hosting some regular meet ups over the EGX 2017 weekend and of course an after show party on the Saturday night. Gaming guys and gals from all corners will be making the trip and we’d love to meet up with each and every one of you.

If you are interested in joining us, head to the Facebook Event page HERE.

Friday Title

EGX will be in the centre of the NEC and just down the corridor is the Wetherspoon’s Atrium Bar, where we will be from 12 until 2pm (although I suspect there will be a bunch there for some time – look out for Midlife Gamer Lanyards and T-Shirts – they will be worn by the friendly looking bunch of guys and gals who all seem to be very happy and laughing a lot!) Come and find Adamski, Spinky (Matt) or Baron Von Pleb (Neale) to get your unique lanyard! There will generally be a big bunch of us Midlife Gamers at the Wetherspoon’s Atrium Bar– do come over and say hi and within 60 seconds you will feel like you are amongst old friends.

Saturday Show Title

This year’s party will once again return to the Irish Centre in Digbeth and we have a very special event in the afternoon – the very first and exclusive Midlife Gamer Podcast Live Show!
This will be your chance to bein the audience as Matt & Daren record a live show which is sure to be filled with fun and merriment and of course, adult themes.
Doors open at 2:30pm for a 3pm recording. Be part of history!
(Recording is scheduled to finish no later than 5pm, after which we need to clear the room in readiness for the evening shenanigans)

Saturday Party Title

Then later in the evening, we will be hosting the MLGX Charity Party for GamesAid, featuring fun, games and our favourite Karaoke DJ, Dano!
Doors open at 7pm for a party from 8pm till 1am prompt.

Tickets will be going on sale on Friday 1st September at 10am priced just £7.50 (inc booking fee) each.

You can purchase your tickets, safely and securely here: MLGX2017 Tickets

There will of course be the return of our famous charity auction where you will have the chance to bid on a selection of unique games related goodness with all proceeds, of course, going to GamesAid.

As with previous there are some costs involved which is why this is a ticket only event, but once costs have been covered every penny will be going to GamesAid. Midlife Gamer doesn’t make any money from this event. We want to be transparent and hope that you will join us for a fantastic and memorable get together. You may enter on your own, but we guarantee you’ll leave with 100 new friends – you won’t want to miss it.

We’ll be upstairs at the Irish Centre Birmingham – same room as last time for anyone that was there. Everyone who buys a ticket will be issued with a special wristband on the night to control entry. You will need to bring a printed or electronic copy of each of your tickets so that we can scan your unique barcode and allow entry. Unfortunately without your ticket we will be unable to grant entry.

Under 18s MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Food is served downstairs – great prices, great quality.
There is no lift available, but anyone that needs assistance, there will be plenty of us on hand to help, please just ask.

The Midlife Gamer Eurogamer Expo Twitter hash tag for everyone to follow is:
#MLGX2017

Start using the tag now and over the course of the Expo. Let us know what you’re planning, where you are going to be and if there is anything exciting going on.
Don’t forget to post your photos with the hashtag too! Keep an eye on this for ad hoc meet ups at the event too.

Any questions, please feel free to contact @AdamskiUK, @BaronVonPleb or @EggDaddy.

THANK YOU

July 23rd, 2013 by

Thank You

Hey, you are simply awesome and we’re so glad that you’ve decided to be part of the Midlife Gamer Party 2015 at EGX.
We’ll update the Forum post attendees list to show that you’ve paid as soon as possible.

In the next few days, we’ll email you a unique ticket(s) for entry which you should either print or have on your phone when you rock up to the party.

The Party is upstairs in the Irish Center Birmingham – 14-20 High Street, Deritend (Digbeth), Birmingham, B12 0LN.

http://www.irishcentrebirmingham.co.uk/

Remember, Doors open at 7pm with the party running from 8pm until….3am (so long as we keep buying from the bar)

They serve food until 9pm if you need to reload, but you have to munch downstairs – we wouldn’t want to mess up the dance floor!

Keep it under your hat, but we have a Karaoke DJ booked for the night who is going to give us a mix of music, singing and dancing. So warm up those vocal chords and wear your dancing shoes.

Of course, there will be a few surprises still to be revealed, but we know that the evening will be infinitely more amazing now that you are going to be there!

If you’ve got any issues you need to discuss, please feel free to email Adamski@midlifegamer.net, putting “MLGX Help” in the subject line.

On behalf of everyone here at Midlife Gamer and GamesAid, thank you.
